Have an idea of what you are looking for beforehand. Before you shop, get an idea of whether you are looking for yellow or white gold, platinum, two-tone, wide or narrow.

Check for quality marks. A wedding band should have two marks engraved inside the band: the manufacturer’s trademark and the quality mark (ie: 24k or PLAT). Just like any piece of quality jewelry, make sure your ring contains both marks.
